On our tin anniversary, we are embarking on an Epic “Journey around the World ” in association with The Road Ventures which has offered us an opportunity to travel across 3 Continents for research purposes.
Coming together we have the opportunity to study:
The psychological factors which influence why people travel, and how travel can impact people’s lives include increased tourism, cross-cultural exchange, and regional connectivity.
How travel can benefit people’s mental health with deeper insight to explore how cultural, geographical, and environmental factors influence human cognition, emotional processing, and social behavior by studying diverse populations across 20+ countries during an overland journey.
Overland Journey from Pakistan:
“Cultural and Environmental Influences on Human Mind, Philosophy of Cognition and Emotional Processing Across Diverse Societies and Family Structures”
Research Objective:
To explore how cultural, geographical, and environmental factors influence human cognition, emotional processing, and social behavior by studying diverse populations across 20+ countries during a land-based journey.
Key Research Questions:
How do cultural norms and traditions shape cognitive processes such as decision-making, problem-solving, and memory?
What role do environmental factors (e.g., climate, urban vs. rural settings) play in influencing emotional regulation and stress management?
How does prolonged exposure to different cultural environments impact the researcher’s own cognitive and emotional processes (autoethnography)?
Are there universal patterns in human thought and emotion, or do they vary significantly across cultural and geographical contexts?
How do cultural norms in each country shape cognitive processes such as perception, attention, and problem-solving?
What are the differences in emotional expression and regulation between individuals from joint family systems compared to those from nuclear families?
In what ways does continuous travel across diverse cultural landscapes influence the traveler’s own cognitive and emotional processes?
